and this:
Not the most balanced lunch, but arguably better than fast food.
As I mentioned, I went to Whole Foods mostly to get ingredients for some upcoming recipes. I am trying to get better about meal planning. Being AWARE of what meals are coming helps me to prepare and plan! Over the next few days, I plan to make the following three recipes:
- Restart Salad from Happy Healthy Mama
- Black Bean, Sweet Potato, and Red Quinoa Soup from Oh She Glows
- Beer & Bone Suckin’ Chicken with Sweet Potatoes, Parsnips and Mushrooms from KERF
- Back on Track Green Monster from Oh She Glows
- Overnight Oats from Peanut Butter Fingers
- Simple Ginger Curry Roasted Cauliflower from Peanut Butter Fingers
All of these recipes are on my "Recipe Ideas" Pinterest Board. Follow me!
So here is my loot from Whole Foods... Drum roll...
We've got cilantro (quinoa soup), bananas, blueberries/strawberries/raspberries, mini cucumbers (green monster)...
Grape tomatoes, vanilla greek yogurt (overnight oats), pink lady apples (salad, green monster), red bell pepper (salad), cauliflower (recipe), Bone suckin' sauce and mushrooms (KERF recipe)...
Vanilla almond milk (not unsweetened, will I regret that?), eggs, walnut bits (one paper bag, recipe), red couscous (the other paper bag, soup recipe), gingerade kombucha, baby spinach (soup), ground flaxseed...
kale chips (wanted to see how packaged ones taste), 365 fragrance free shampoo and conditioner due to my -- ahem -- rash (more on that later), 365 organic peanut butter ball cereal, coconut oil, yellow corn chips (soup/staple), chia seeds, 365 dark chocolate, lemons, lime, avocado, cremini mushrooms (KERF)...
So what do you think? Does this look like your typical grocery cart? Have you tried any of those recipes? If you do, let me know! And follow me on Pinterest!

I was just going to comment on how admirable all your purchases were for intended recipes. LOVE. You see...I stock (hoard) ALL THE FOODS!! <- esp veg and end up scrounging for gas funds at the end of the month yet I have a fully loaded cupboard and fridge (and yets "nothing to eat" like a woman with a clothes closet full of nothing.
ReplyDeleteThat being said? No SMART goals for me and your prior post was a kick in the pants for me so thank you and thanx for the vicarious WF shopping trip you took me on.
Get yourself some SMART goals! And I tend to be a food hoarder too, and the problem is that I don't eat a lot of it. So I'm trying to be much more responsible of keeping a smaller amount on hand at any given time.
DeleteThat is a great Whole Foods haul there! I love those Brad's Raw Chips. The little bag just gets me each time!
ReplyDeleteThe jury's out on the chips for me. At first my mouth said "no no!" but then I wanted more. :)
